At the debut of my new blog…Ian’s Blog: Nominal Returns, exclusively @ iansbnr.com.

If you found your way here, it is likely that you know me and have some idea of what I may be up to with this effort. To remove all mystery, one thing I am well known for is sharing my opinion!

Without my typical interactions with many of you, I no longer have that platform and I miss spouting off. Ergo, this blog! The good news for you is, if you desire, it is easier to tune me out (i.e. don’t click the link)!

What can you expect to read here? It will be a mix of thought pieces and commentary on current events. While the focus will be more insurance than not, I certainly expect to share views on investing as well.

How frequently will I write? When I feel like it! 🙂 My guess is once or twice a week but it really depends on how often I have something to say and what is happening in the world.

What’s with the name? Ian’s Blog abbreviates to IB which naturally led to IBNR. So I came up with a N(ominal) and R(eturns) that conveyed the investment focus. As for the website name, well, I was too cheap to pay for ibnr.com and this was available and still relatively short and easy to remember. Plus, I’m a diva and wanted a website with my name in it!

Can you comment on posts? Most definitely! You can feel free to have fun with comments too. I won’t edit as long as it reasonable. If you would say it on an earnings call, you can say it here. I realize that means different things to different readers. 😉
